Support at the Center
At Cardinal Elementary School, learning doesn’t stop when the lesson ends. Sometimes, it follows students to lunch. Sometimes, it shows up in an unexpected sentence. And sometimes, it sounds like a student saying, “That’s hyperbole,” after a teacher casually declares, “I have a million things to do!”

For classroom teacher Katharine Lenhart and LIEP teacher Velda Balmer, those moments are reminders of what can happen when students are given both the support and high expectations to thrive. Read more...
